Houston is a metropolis that is all about its neighborhoods. When Houstonians want to imbibe and have a bite, they look for the perfect spot that is, well, in their neighborhood. The highly anticipated new FM Kitchen and Bar is just that!
It’s the new neighborhood spot that is honest, eager to please, and gets right down to exactly what you want, a great place to hang, have beer and a great bite. Chef Ryan Hildebrand, a native Houstonian who knows food, felt like it was time to create the perfect neighborhood spot right in the heart of the Washington Shepherd corridor. His love for southern comforts and Houston, inspired him to create an indoor/outdoor bar experience that was a throwback to roadside burger stands that you would find on a farm to market road. Hence the name FM Kitchen and Bar.
Hildebrand says, “We brought the casual comfortable nature of a road trip to the heart of one of the best cities in the world. Think of it as a park in the city where you have a drink, a bite, play some games on the patio and relax. We also wanted a place to celebrate all that Houston is, in particular, the artists that love and populate the city. The graffiti and street art in Houston is a powerful part of our culture and we want to highlight that. We are proud to collaborate with Daniel Anguilu whose work is iconic in Houston.”
Daniel will be the first artist to showcase his work at FM and will curate other artists on rotation. In addition FM is partnering with Wonky Power to host exciting local bands and Erin Hicks will be providing spectacular interiors that add to the whole FM experience.
All in all, FM is a place to delight all of the senses, and it highlights all of these great parts of our city in one beautiful spot.
